19th August 2024: Frances McCullagh is Senior Heathland Specialist at Natural England and will be chairing a session on day 1 and speaking on day 3.
She is one of the habitat and species specialists within the Chief Scientist Directorate, where she supports the wider organisation providing evidence and advice. She has worked for 30 years in Natural England and founding bodies, mainly as a lead adviser in the West Midlands area team. That role meant she provided all-round ecological input as a SSSI responsible officer, supporting agri-environment schemes and monitoring, EIA casework and partnership working. Frances feels privileged to now be able to specialise on heathland, and to use her wide ranging experience to support delivery for nature recovery.
